Water Environment Studies
Our general water environment work covers a broad range of problems and topics. In the last few years some of our work in this area includes:

-
Assessing the impact of habitat restoration proposals on the water environment;
-
Determining the impact of new forest planting proposals on existing private water supplies;
-
Scoping opportunities for water-environment related habitat restoration and delivering feasibility studies;
-
Providing pollution control advice for construction sites;
-
Assessing the impact of large-scale housing development proposals on existing community interests.
Some examples of what we do are shown below but if you have a bespoke requirement please let us know.

The increase in new woodland planting proposals in recent years has led to concerns over water environment impacts. While new woodland has significant environmental and socio-economic benefit, it can also lead to negative impacts on the water environment, including existing at-risk habitats and small private water supplies.

We provide site-specific advice on the likely impact of new woodland proposals on the water environment and can assist with mitigation development and monitoring.
We have undertaken assessment of the opportunities and challenges associated with habitat restoration across the UK. We can provide site specific hydrological restoration proposals as well as mitigation plans where the impact is shown to be unnaceptable.

Legacy infrastructure has often been designed and constructed to older standards which in some cases poses a potential risk to the water environment. We have undertaken assessments of existing sites to determine what impact they are having and what remedial measures could be employed.
